PALERMO, Italy (Reuters) – Magistrates have launched a formal investigation against an Italian senator Marcello Dell’Utri on suspicion that he attempted to blackmail his longtime patron, former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, over alleged Sicilian mafia links, judicial officials said on Wednesday.
