Joey G

           Crazy  Joey

funeral mob mafia

The casket containing legendary gangster Joey Gallo exits Guido’s Funeral Home in his old neighborhood of Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. Gallo was gunned down at Umberto’s Clam House in Little Italy on April 7, 1972, after a night out with actor Jerry Orbach and his wife. Orbach was prepping for his role in a movie version of Jimmy Breslin’s “Gang That Couldn’t Shoot Straight.”

Gallo’s execution came 10 years after he first ignited an internal war in the Colombo family. thanks NY Daily News

I spent two weeks with Joey Gallo and his Jewish pal  while he was in Hollywood. Joey had came west to recruit a couple of  pistoleros for his war with the Profaci mob.. Villa Capri bartender Mike” Rizzi” Rizzitello was one of  them he picked up.   My boss,  Dragna Mob member, Dago Louie Piscopo, gave me his Caddy to use to drive Joey around.  We had a blast.Joey wanted to see where they filmed  77 Sunset Strip.. On the way there he was giving  colorful commentary  He sees a muscle bound poser walking on Sunset Blvd and Gallo , says, ” kid,  you see that  big  mutt, guys built  like him  S—-ck  dick’s in the slammer.”

I knew 6 members of  the Gallo Gang ,and a  couple of them were like a brother to Joey. Much more is in my New  book.  Including two weeks of Crazy Joe  Gallo in Hollywood.
