Palermo, Sicily. Accursio Dimino, a teacher, and member of the Sicilian Mafia Valle del Belice, had many of his assets seized. Anti-mafia investigators from Palermo on Tuesday announced the seizure of around 1 million euros worth of assets they suspect are linked to mafia activities in Agrigento, a city on Sicily’s southern coast.
The assets – bank accounts and stocks, three apartments (one with 10 rooms), located in a central Sciacca, were all traced to Dimino. The Sicilian school teacher is currently in prison for recruiting new members for the Sicilian mafia.
Italian interior minister Roberto Maroni on 15 August said Italy in around a year had seized suspected mafia assets worth 15 billion euros. To read more Click Here
