BRUSSELS — Organized crime groups in Europe have become more versatile in their interests and more reliant on the Internet, says a report released on Wednesday by Europe’s law enforcement agency, Europol.

While Mafia crime syndicates are gathering “diverse portfolios of criminal business interests,” they are using new technology, including voice services like Skype and social media Web sites like Facebook, both to defraud victims and to orchestrate other crimes, the report says.  read More   Click here: Crime Gangs in Europe Are Profiting From Web – NYTimes.com
