Patriarca Crime Family Capo, Anthony M. “The Saint” St. Laurent Sr.
PROVIDENCE, R.I.—A New England mobster Anthony The Saint” St. Laurent Sr is asking a federal prosecutor to delay his July 28 sentencing in a murder-for-hire plot that was never carried out.
A lawyer for Crime Family Capo, Anthony M. “The Saint” St. Laurent Sr. filed a motion Monday in Providence federal court requesting a delay until September.
Defense attorney Olin Thompson says he requested the continuance because of the vacation schedule for him and the prosecutor.
Laurent pleaded guilty March 24 to the use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of a murder-for-hire. The maximum penalties are 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years’ supervised release.
Prosecutors say St. Laurent plotted to have fellow mob member Robert “Bobby” DeLuca killed. DeLuca was a longtime ally of former Mafia boss “Cadillac Frank” Salemme, who “made”DeLuca a member of the Patriarca Cosa Nostra family . St. Laurent has acknowledged in court papers being a member of the Patriarca crime family
