Mob linked Music Maven, Morris Levy aka “Godfather”

Without knowing it, 60’s Rocker Tommy James signed on with mafia connected music maven Morris Levy.( Hesh character on The Sopranos ) and  New York record label, Roulette Records,  a front for the Genovese crime family.  He mentions this in his  memoir , “Me, the Mob and the Music: One Helluva Ride with Tommy James and the Shondells”.   James returns for his first local concert since ’87.  read the story

James quickly sold the “Hanky Panky” master and signed a deal with Roulette Records, without realizing it was a front for the Genovese crime family.
