Prosecutors deny James “Whitey Bulger” had a license to break the law

Boston gangster whitey Bulger, 83, is accused of participating in 19 murders.

A federal official gave James “Whitey” Bulger immunity to commit crimes while he was an FBI informant, a lawyer for the Boston mobster said.

In court papers filed late Wednesday, attorney J.W. Carney claimed former U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts Jeremiah O’Sullivan granted Bulger immunity for past or future offenses.
