A reputed mob boss who headed a hit squad responsible for rubbing out 46 people, declared Wednesday he will no longer be a State’s witness and that what he told prosecutors were lies, reports Ansa news
“I don’t want to be examined, all I want to say is that I told a pack of lies to get out of jail sooner” said Giuseppe Setola, during a trial-hearing for the murder of enterpreneur Domenico Noviello.
Setola who was arrested in 2009 is considered a big boss in the Casalesi clan of the Camorra and is serving several life sentences in a double tough prison reserved for mafia members
His about-face comes after two Casalesi bosses were acquitted Monday of threatening the lives of crusading anti-mafia investigative journalists Roberto Saviano and Rosaria Capacchione
