As part of a probe into the sale of petrol, Italian police last week confiscated around 120 million euros in assets belonging to the family of a former boss in Silvio Berlusconi’s party in Campania, reports Ansa News

Police seized 142 companies and  a petrol distributorship in the  Campania region  belonging to the family of Nicola Cosentino, a former boss in Berlusconi’s party in Campania ,and alleged political fixer  for the Casalesi clan of the Camorra

The Cosentino family are strongly suspected of having used their clout with the Casalesi clan of the Camorra to crush the competition against a string of petrol stations owned and operated by the family

Nicola Cosentino was arrested on April 3, 2014  along  with 12 others, including members of the Italian mafia’s  Casalesi  clan,  and charged with extortion  of petrol distributors  and unfair competition
