MOB

Gang Land’s Jerry Capeci  writes

Anthony (Tony Lodi) Cardinalle, who ran the New Jersey strip club that served as the “Bada Bing” – Tony Soprano’s fictional mob headquarters – was brutally assaulted by shotgun wielding thugs at the club on Route 17 in Lodi.

The beating came long after Cardinalle’s role as an informant was made public and just a month before he received a sweet 30-day prison term for cooperating against the powerful Genovese crime family, Gang Land has learned.

Mr. Capeci writes, In the December 2014 incident, two assailants “beat and kicked Cardinalle” and “also put shotguns into his back and told him they were going to kill him” when they ambushed him in the parking lot behind the club, prosecutor Brian Blais wrote in a redacted copy of the government sentencing memo that was filed last week. Thus far, there is no evidence linking the mob to what is officially called an armed robbery.

Mr. Capeci  writes, Lodi police say the masked gunmen took more than $25,000 from a safe at the Satin Dolls, the real name of the Bada Bing.

But it’s unclear whether robbery was the primary motive, according to law enforcement sources and a sentencing transcript that was unsealed in the case following a Gang Land request last month to Manhattan Federal Judge P. Kevin Castel . Gangland news
