Italian police on Saturday arrested eight members of the notorious ‘Ndrangheta mafia based in the province of Crotone in Calabria
The arrested are involved in a process rooted in a police operation called’ Tramontana’ and have to serve sentences ranging from four to 12 years following the ruling of an Italian Supreme Court which rejected their appeal
The investigation that led to operation ‘ Tramontana’ goes back 12 years and involved 43 ‘Ndrangheta members accused of drug trafficking, murder, extortion, and possession of weapons
