Police dragged away in handcuffs, Andrea Nizza, 31, the reputed undisputed boss of the Nizza clan , an arm of the powerhouse Santapaola mafia family of Cosa Nostra based in Catania
Nizza was on the run since 2014. He was on Italy’s list of most dangerous fugitives, and was wanted for a murder conviction and dealing drugs on behalf of the Santapaola mafia family
According to investigators, , Andrea Nizza is accused of being a big part of a Cosa Nostra group that deals drugs internationally,and has a monopoly of the “major drug markets” in the city of Catania
His clan has a penchant for possessing high- powered weapons , which were seized by police in a raid on Jul 6, 2016
Nizza congratulated the police as he was being handcuffed, telling them, “you did well, it was not easy to find me …”. He was arrested long with two friends who were charged with aiding and abetting a fugitive
