Iavarone, one of the reputed ranking bosses of the Amato-Pagano clan of the Camorra mafia based in Naples, was wanted for trafficking cocaine and hashish to Italy that was imported from Spain
The arrest was ordered by the magistrate of the Naples Court at the request of the District Anti-Mafia Directorate. Sixteen other people were arrested in the investigation, including Rosaria Pagano, sister of Caesar and wife of Pietro Amato, late brother of the powerful boss Raffaele Amato
