Joseph Venice

Gang Land’s Jerry  Capeci writes

A Yonkers-based Luchese mobster quietly pleaded guilty a month ago to labor racketeering charges stemming from a lucrative kickback scheme involving a $30 million expansion project at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital, Gang Land has learned.

The scheme included a mob-connected contractor with long and close ties to powerhouse Luchese wiseguy Steven (Stevie Wonder) Crea.

In his plea deal, Joseph Venice admitted submitting two bills in 2012 that were “fraudulently inflated” by a total of $80,000 for work at the hospital – now known as BronxCare – in a “wire and mail fraud” scheme involving Crea and Randolph (Randy) Silverstein, the president of the general contractor the hospital used for the project, the Sparrow Construction Company.
