One of Mexico’s and the US’ most wanted drug lords, Jorge Eduardo Costilla Sanchez, also known as ‘El Coss’, has been captured by Mexican marines in the northern state of the country.
Mr Costilla, a former police officer and suspected Gulf cartel leader, is on the government’s list of the 37 most wanted drug lords with a reward of more than 1.2m on his head.
The Gulf cartel has been engaged in a bloody battle with the Zetas drug gang for trafficking routes into the US. So this capture is quite a prize for the Mexican government and their war on drugs.
