Italian police on Monday executed arrest warrants against six suspects accused of corruption in the health sector, involving the mafia in Caserta
The suspects included the former mayor of Caserta, and the head of the legal department of ASL Caserta, who supposedly took bribes from mobbed-up businessman Angelo Grillo, and granted him service of cleaning contracts in hospitals and local health offices
Grillo, a reputed representative of the Camorra clan Belforte, is also a recipient of the arrest warrant. He was already behind bars as part of a probe into extortion connected to big money contracts with the Caserta provincial health authorities
