Flavio Mendez Santiago, a founding father of the brutal Los Zetas drug cartel,  a major drug trafficking organization, has been arrested by Mexico’s federal police. El Amarillo or “The Yellow One,’’ as he is called, controlled drug smuggling routes and the kidnapping of Central American migrants in southern Mexico. Reports the Boston Globe

The Zetas are suspected in the disappearance of more than 40 Central American migrants in Oaxaca last month.
