Reputed New England  mob  enforcer  Enrico Ponzo  was convicted today of   racketeering charges in a Federal court in  Boston that  including his role in a rubout  attempt  of reputed mobster  Francis P. “Cadillac Frank” Salemme

The jury convicted Ponzo on 12 racketeering charges, but balked on finding him guilty for two  murders and four fouled-up shootings  during an ongoing battle between organized crime figures in the late 1980s and 1990s.

Prosecutors portrayed   Ponzo  as  one of several  shooters  on a renegade  Patriarca hit-squad who gunned down on-the-rise  gangster”  Cadillac Frank” Salemme  who was  wounded and would  eventually  became boss of the New England Mafia

Ponzo, 45, is scheduled to be sentenced in February.
