A mob mouthpiece yesterday at the racketeering and murder trial of accused mobster Whitey Bulger told a jury that the former co-leader of the Winter Hill Gang was never a recruited rat or the gruesome gangster the prosecution paints him as
J.W. Carney Jr. drove home to jurors that the witnesses against Bulger are vicious psychopaths and Stevie Flemmi was the one who killed two women, Debra Davis and Deborah Hussey, then blamed Bulger for the slayings
And John Martorano and Flemmi were trying to frame Bulger for the 1981 slaying of Tulsa businessman Roger Wheeler in Oklahoma and Callahan in Florida a year later.
However Federal prosecutors had an opposing view, and they maintained the reputed mobster was at the center of murder and mayhem in the Boston rackets for decades
Jurors today in James “Whitey” Bulger racketeering trial have been shown a massive collection of weapons, including machine guns, allegedly owned by Bulger and his fellow gang members
Family members of Bulger’s alleged victims were in the courtroom and are hoping for justice. Whitey is eventually expected to take the stand
