   After a Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper series documented widespread mob influence and corrupt union leadership on the docks, later depicted in the 1954 Marlon Brando film “On the Waterfront,” the Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor has been under pressure to rid the the influence of the Genovese organized crime Family  operating on the docks.
