Mafioso martyr mixes religion and racketeering.

Tommy Shots apparently didn’t get the memo about Pope Francis excommunicating gangsters.

Thomas Gioeli, a former Colombo crime boss who has a Mafioso martyr complex, claims he was punished with eight days in solitary confinement for wearing a religious scapular outside his prison garb.

Gioeli, who is serving 18 years in prison for racketeering, rants on his blog that he was given the string necklace by a prison chaplain in Brooklyn and proudly wears it to “show my devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.”
