Jon Voight shared how the role of Ray Donovan’s father, Mickey, came to him during The Hollywood Reporter’s TV Drama Actor Roundtable, calling the script very “spare.”
“When I wasn’t onscreen doing something outrageous, I was being talked about. So it was an important character and I had to find a way to do it.” On playing Mickey Donovan he says, “I knew I’d have to change myself physically in every way.”
