Federal prosecutors argued yesterday that James “Whitey’’ Bulger’s girlfriend should be denied bail because she has failed to reveal all her assets, including a secret bank account.
Catherine E. Greig, 60, has “an undisclosed bank account in her name with a substantial balance,’’ according to a memorandum that prosecutors filed in US District Court opposing her request to be freed until trial.
Greig’s twin sister, Margaret McCusker of South Boston, recently presented the bank with a power of attorney from Greig allowing her to withdraw funds from the account, according to the memorandum. Prosecutors did not identify the bank or indicate how much money was in the account. Read More below Here
