A judge agreed Thursday to postpone the retrial of reputed Philadelphia mob boss Joseph Ligambi and two others until October after lawyers in the case cited scheduling conflicts.
After a conference with federal prosecutors and defense lawyers, U.S. District Judge Eduardo Robreno agreed to move the trial from April to mid-October. The actual date has not been finalized.
Jurors last month acquitted Ligambi on counts of loan-sharking, theft, and bookmaking but deadlocked on the more serious racketeering charge against him and two reputed mob captains, George “Georgie” Borgesi and Anthony “Ant” Staino.
