Corleone is famous the world over for its mafia connections
The mayor of the Sicilian town of Corleone, well known for its connections to the Cosa Nostra has apologised to victims of the vicious criminal organization
Mayor Lea Savona said the town, made famous in the movie “The Godfather”, no longer belonged to the mafia and urged those who still formed part of the structure to turn themselves in.
She announced her comments on the anniversary of the arrest of Salvatore ” Toto” Riina , the town’s brutal mafia boss.
