Anthony” Tony Roach” Rampino         Drug-dealing hit man Anthony Tony Roach Rampino, a longtime associate of “Dapper Don” John Gotti, lost his bid to get sprung from prison Monday after a Manhattan judge said the mobster’s “not that old” nor at death’s door.

Rampino, 70, asked Supreme Court Justice Arlene Goldberg for an early end to his 25-to-life sentence for heroin trafficking, arguing that his poor health and revisions to the Rockefeller-era drug laws should win him his freedom.

Goldberg didn’t buy it.
“Defendant’s medical condition or his age would not prevent him from committing a crime or conspiring to do so if released from prison,” she said.

Rampino has been locked up since a 1987 conviction for a $30,000 heroin deal with an undercover cop.
Frail and suffering from heart and respiratory ailments, Rampino was once a feared associate of the Gambino crime family.

Goldberg noted that a prison doctor said Rampino’s condition had improved and that he can walk, eat and shower.
“Death is no longer imminent,” the judge said
